Our programs
Discover a range of programs designed to help athletes of all ages and skill levels grow, compete, and succeed.
From beginner clinics to elite training and competitive teams, our programs focus on developing fundamentals, building confidence, and inspiring a lifelong passion for the game.
AC Salisbury is proud to promote a player-centric development model that prioritizes individual player growth over team achievements. Although this model hasn’t necessarily been promoted in our area, we are not alone in this initiative – it is the pathway created by the US Soccer Federation, our governing body.
We all have a part to play in this.
100% of our head AND assistant coaches are certified US Soccer Federation coaches. We are committed to growth and learning just as we expect our players to be. In addition to soccer-specific training, as a part of the certification process, coaches must:
-
Complete a background check
-
Complete ‘Heads Up’ training – a program developed by the CDC to help coaches respond to concussions. (If your child experiences a concussion outside of soccer, please notify your coach)
-
Complete US Center for SafeSport Certification. SafeSport is dedicated solely to ending sexual, physical, and emotional abuse on behalf of athletes everywhere. To learn more and to find out how you can play your part, A free online parent training is provided: https://uscenterforsafesport.org/parents/
We ask that our parents take the Sideline Project Pledge.
(https://thesidelineproject.com/take-pledge/#/ ):
Youth sports belong to the players.
-
I pledge to honor the youth sports experience of the players with supportive, not distracting, behavior.
-
I pledge to eliminate hostile behavior targeted towards players, coaches, parents, and most notably referees.
-
I pledge to honor players, to respect referees, and to Make Youth Sports Better.
Our Culture
01
Every single decision we make puts the individual player first. We mandate all of our coaches are licensed through US Soccer. We host referee and coach certification courses for other area soccer clubs. We have clear expectations for spectator sideline behavior and ask Parents to take The Sideline Project pledge. We choose leagues and tournaments that challenge players. We re-invest into our facilities and our equipment. We include Strength and Conditioning, administered by NSCA certified trainers. Why? To give our athletes the best possible experience and opportunities that we can.
02
We want our athletes to establish a life-long love of the beautiful game of soccer. We want our training sessions and time together to be the best part of an athletes day. We want to help pave the way for athletes looking to compete at the highest possible levels, and we want to open the door for those looking to be introduced to soccer for the first time. From our most competitive travel teams to our beginner athletes in our Developmental Academy, instilling and maintaining the Love of the Game is at the top our agenda.
03
Central to our culture is the belief that every athlete has the potential to excel and develop into the best version of themselves – both on and off the pitch. We lead by example, through actions like showing up on time, treating people with respect, and keeping our cool under pressure. Mindfulness, respect, and effort and equally as important as tactical and technical soccer ability in helping our athletes become the best versions of themselves.
